A specially developed variety which will produce good coloured
roots of excellent flavour while still small. Like the larger
varieties that are grown not only for their value as a food source
(Vitamin A) but as a versatile vegetable for cooking and salads.
All carrots prefer a deep loamy soil manured for a previous crop
- fresh farmyard or poultry manure may cause the tap root to
divide and become forked. Apply a complete fertilizer just before
sowing seeds in drills or rows or by broadcasting.
Thin out by removing the largest ones as they reach a useable
size and water the remainder back in. For follow-up crops sow
again every six weeks.
