Sunflowers aregross feeders and will not thrive in poor soil, therefore theyrequire a rich soil in an open sunny position and an abundanceof moisture. Before sowing work the soil and incorporate AComplete Fertilizer at the rate of 30g per square metre. Sow theseed directly into the soil and thin the young seedlings.The flowers last approx. 2-3 weeks, after the petals drop, cut offthe heads and let the seed heads dry. They can then be hung inbird cages, or in trees to attract birds such as parrots.CAUTION: TREATED WITH COSMOS. DO NOT USE SEED FOR FOOD, FEED OR OIL.Recommended to use gloves when handling this seed or wash yourhands after use.
