A popular 80cm tall variety with large dahlia like flowers of mixed brilliant colours. It makes a bright massed display in the garden and is most useful as a cut flower. They require a well drained situation in full sun and prefer an average soil for maximum flowering- if the soil is to rich the plants are likely to run to leaf. Sow seed in a seed bed or box and transplant when seedlings have produced at least 2 true leaves 25- 30cm apart. Because they require plenty of warmth the seedlings should not be planted out until the weather warms up. During the growing season they require little cultivation other than removal of weeds by hand and regular watering.
