A very old Cherry, around for about 200 years. It is a heavy cropper of large almost black fruit. The Cherry is large and very early fruiting.
CONDITIONS: Suited to good free draining, fertile moist soils in a sunny site. Best in an area protected from Spring squalls to avoid loss of blossom.
FOR BEST RESULTS: Enrich soil with well rotted compost and a thick layer of mulch. Keep mulch clear of the trunk. Water evenly by deep soaking over hottest months.
