A quick maturing popular variety, like most others, the flowers are
susceptible to frost damage, so timing is most important.
Peas will grow in a wide range of soils preferably following a leafy
crop such as cabbage or silver beet. The soil should be deeply dug
then limed at a rate of 150-200g per square metre several weeks
before sowing the seed.
Fertilizer application should be restricted to a dressing of a
complete fertilizer at planting time. Cultivation should be limited to
shallow hoeing to control weeds and regular watering.
