A magic corn with high sugar content. Not only is the corn extra
sweet when harvested, but it will hold that quality for a relatively
long period.
Sweet Corn plants require plenty of food so the soil must be
prepared by digging in compost and then applying a complete
fertilizer. As corn is frost tender, sowing should be delayed until
the soil warms up.
As seedlings germinate keep them growing with a side-dressing
of a complete fertilizer.
To enjoy sweet juicy corn, check the silken threads at the top of
the cob and if they have become dry test to see if the seeds are
well-developed, the kernels soft and milky. They should be ready
to harvest at this stage.
